PublicOpinionForum / ACQTC Drafting Human Rights Violation Complaint
ACQTC is Drafting a Complaint for Human Rights ViolationsACQTC has begun drafting a formal complaint for violations of their human and civil rights against several Connecticut state agencies, including the Commission on Indian Affairs. “The time has come for ACQTC to be given the respect it is due as the Grandfathers of all Long Water Land," said Iron Thunderhorse, who is working tirelessly on this Complaint. “I have sat on the now-defunct CIAC as legal and political and cultural advisor to the CIAC Chair under Paulette Crone-Morange; and I successfully defended the Scahghticoke in their time of need and Richard Velky knows this. His group is split between the Schaghticoke nation and tribe which is divided along Mahican and Quiripi lineages. Yet on the ACQTC Central Council fire Tom Little Deer holds a seat. What we have is a situation where the enculturated / Christianized wonnux-backed Indians are usurping the hereditary traditionalists. This has happened all across Turtle Island where the treaty-chiefs turned against those who refused to give up their traditions. It happened at Big Mountain, Arizona when Hopi and Navajo traditionalists have been divided for many decades. In the Plains the Siouxs and their hereditary Oceti Sakowin (Council of Seven fires) separated the traditionalists from the ones who cast aside their language, religion and culture. It is sad but true that our nieces and nephews in the sub-tribes have thrown away their respect and traditions for a few crumbs tossed at them by the Wonnux in Connecticut government.” The Complaint will specify how state agencies as well as families in Connecticut who have acquired wealth, power and influence and used it against ACQTC to protect the subterfuge, disinformation and retaliation against those who have assisted ACQTC in proving their claims. Iron Thunderhorse concluded: “We now have documentary proof, affidavits and much more and the time of reckoning is upon us. Many people have made NGPRA claims for ancestral remains of the Quinnipiac held by museums so they can benefit financially and these are white people with absolutely no right to claim our ancestors remains.” The Complaint is expected to be filed by April 2008. |
