Our Quinnipiac Heritage Profiles

Throughout our WEJAMMOKE (HOMELAND) the Quinnipiac Heritage Legacy can be found covering the entire expanse of Greater New Haven, Connecticut. This special section not only provides a comprehensive list of examples on how our legacy still survives today, it also features separate PROFILES about the local agencies, businesses, landmarks and institutions that have become an integral part of our Long-Water-Land Legacy.

ACQTC policy is to actively work with these businesses etc. to develop ways and means of providing relationship-oriented, cross-cultural services that enrich the lives of the Long-Water-Land community and thereby building bridges between our cultures and traditions. We all share the same space and helping the community-at-large understand that we are a Sovereign, Autonomous Tribal Nation struggling to revitalize our Traditions, Heritage and Culture is our mission, purpose and intention.

The Quinnipiac have called the Long-Water-Land their wejammoke for over 10,000 years and have survived all manner of natural and human catastrophes. The Ean•sketambawg of Quirri/pe/okke strive to be True RENNAWAWK human beings who live in harmony with our ecosystems. This is the legacy of the Long-Water-Land, Our Heritage and we have reserved this space to demonstrate that WE ARE STILL HERE and our existence is defined in our own traditional terms not the policies, practices, stereotypes and Wapsu-Oriented-History that has distorted our presence to fit the goals, purposes and intentions of Puritan-minded individuals and state-sanctioned agencies who want us to vanish and go away. But we are here to stay and we have always been the reason this Legacy exists.
